I used this method to make some shorts and wore them out this weekend with rave reviews! my only complication was that because the leg opening decreased a little over the hem and fold lines, the cuff is a little tight, but I was able to alleviate that by opening the inner seam once I did the first fold. Because I'm still a (new) beginner, I didn't think about this part until I had already sewn the hem line, so I just went back and sewed a small horizontal line over where the seam opening started, and did a vertical line along the opened seam on each side. I love the shorts and how the cuff looks! Thank you so much for this helpful tutorial!

  2. Thanks Heather!! I get it now! For some reason I never could follow the pictorials I've seen…either I'm dim or they were over complicated, because yours makes total sense. Have you done a blind hem tut? That's another one I haven't been able to follow.
