I love making Halloween decorations, but they are especially great when they are kid-friendly. My kids get so excited when I start putting out our Halloween decor, but they play with everything they can reach. Instead of constantly fighting and stressing about them touching, I made a felt haunted house and mini Halloween stuffies that they can play with all day long. You can make your own Halloween kid activity with this haunted house tutorial!

My kids favorite part is the mini stuffies in all sorts of Halloween designs. There are ghosts, pumpkins, cats, crows, a witch, and some kids. I love hearing them play with the little figures and talk to each other as ghosts and witches. These Halloween stuffies are larger than finger puppets. They are stiff and perfect for little hands to hold.

Since everything is made out of felt they can bend, squish, and throw without any worry of the house and stuffies being ruined. I want them to play without me stressing about what they are doing.

My favorite part about this Halloween kid’s activity is that there is storage for all the little Halloween people. They can use the house in their play, but at the end of the day all the little pieces get tucked inside the haunted house. There’s less of a chance of loosing any pieces, and I love that the house has the perfect Halloween look.

I used a Christmas house pattern, but in this haunted house tutorial I changed the colors. It’s like a creepy witch’s house you would find in the haunted woods. I will admit that the inside isn’t as pretty as the outside. I should’ve done another layer of felt for the inside, but I was worried about the corners not folding as well.

This project took some work, but it looks so good because I used the Cricut Maker to cut out all the different kinds of materials. The Maker cuts all the pieces so precisely and quickly that I would never be able to replicate it with my own cutting skills. I love being able to cut iron-on vinyl and nonbonded felt on the same machine!

I decided to use a pattern for a gingerbread house that’s made out of paper and chip board, and instead mdke it out of felt, iron-on vinyl, and stabilizer. With a couple of changes I was able to use the pattern!
